Stefan has designed a winner and the rest of the world is just starting to recognize this fact. It started on my radar screen when I saw it fly in Istanbul. Then it came within one hot thumb landing of winning it's first serious competition at the south west classic in 2008(placed 2nd). Now we have Orcas winning in east, mid central, and west United States. So if you have one in your flight group you better launch high range far and land perfect.  Because the Orca does it with ease.  

Stefan leads a German design team that design such favorites as the Escape, Crossfire, Crossfire EVO, and Tool. The Orca is designed to excel in every condition. To achieve this, Stefan made a high aspect ratio wing with a stiff F3B-like spar. They designed the airfoil (Max Stiedel) after the very successful Tool airfoil and is optimized for fast launching, crazy high zooms, slow speed thermal, and good handling. To handle both high wind and the lightest of air, they have three different sets of tips, the small and medium tips are included in one package or just the extended tips in another. The different tips make the plane feel like three different planes. It is amazing the difference it makes. The Orca goes from an extreme floater to a high wind monster. The fuselage is very strong, made of carbon with a very skinny 2.4 friendly Kevlar nose, so wherever you put the nose, it sticks. They made the Orca with a V-tail to keep the weight down and make it a real floater, and a cross tail for all around flying. The wing has large flaps so landings are slow and accurate. This airframe is ahead of its time and surprises everyone who flies it.. And it is already gaining acceptance in the through German circuit, placing third behind Sebastian and Tobias. Now that it has landed in the US, many competition pilots are switching to this amazing performance machine. The wins are starting to add up with Mark Vance of Washington winning their SAS Spring Fling against notables, and Mike Verzuh of Rocky Mountain Soaring Association, winning the RMSA competition on it's first outing..! Verzuh most recently placed 13th at the World Soaring Masters! And check out it'd performance at this years CASL Phoenix season opener....2nd OVERALL! And NOW the ORCA is available in  a Cross tail! .!
