CHECK OUT NEW ET(Extended
Tips) for the PIKE PERFECT Limited time special $595 (in
stock tips only)
SMM is proud to offer the new dimension of the very popular Pike PERFECT,
the EXTENDED TIP (ET) Perfect.
The ET tips slip on to the existing PERFECT
center section and allow you to have a new cutting edge model.
We have tested the tips, and have seen they offer more flight
time in dead air(more area), allow the model to range better due
to increased aspect ratio, yet allow the model to launch and land
as effortlessly as it always has.
Checkout what Kieth has to say, and his amazing in depth evaluation of the performance of the PERFECT ET Tips.
Jo Grini of the NORWAY
team who has campaigned the model with ET tips for this past
year offers some very interesting and keen insight into the
ET development. Here is what JoJo had to say.......
“Yes, I have been flying mostly ET
tips all season. I am one of the few NOT exclusively flying them on a Super
Light. Others have ordered ET tips only for SL while mine has been the all
around Carbon 68 Perfect, my everyday fly-in-all-conditions
model. The model is improved, from my perspective, dramatically.
I have won all I have entered in
Nordic countries including Nordic Championship. I did very well with them in
extremely tough and challenging conditions in Cyprus in the early season (I won
that event), I placed 4th in the prestigious European Championships in F3J (the
most important event in Europe this season) and was the highest placed Western
European, something of which I am quite proud.
It was all done with a single pair of ET Tips mounted stock on my trusted
PERFECT. In other words it has been a
very good season for me and my Perfect ET. Better turning performance. Better
traction and more energy available. All around a new and improved Perfect.
The
new tips now makes it possible to "go back" to the standard joiners and it flies
with no opposite aileron in the turns. It circles even tighter than before and
tracks better straight ahead. Hang time seems good too. So it seems the change
did what it was supposed to. Get an even easier model to fly and make it bigger
for the dead air days. There should be no need for bigger elevator/rudder as
Philip designed them 10% bigger than calculations said in the first place. And
my testing Friday with backwards CG tells me it is big enough. In the
competition I flew with CG 111mm with and without ballast.
I flew my ET
tips all the time in CYPRUS. This was very big win for me,besting names like
Primoz, Kolb, and Fiegel to name a few in the flyoffs! I had
no problems flying far downwind and coming back in neutral or thermal when the
conditions allowed. The Cyprus conditions were the most challenging of the
season."
Thanks JoJo, I
know this will help PERFECT pilots evaluate the advantages of the Perfect
ET
